I have something to say to you all about Islam and Ft. Hood and why we as a culture have collectively backed ourselves into a rhetorical corner regarding religion and violence and what I think our way out is. This is something I've blogged about before--this business where we insist religion doesn't engender violence, even as a contributing factor--but it occurs to me that the conversation around Ft. Hood is a good reason why we can't afford to talk that way. More later. It is way past my bedtime.
